Older Tech
Design and illustration of a book that showcases my family's small collection of older technology.
This book might be a nostalgic look back at some of the tech from the past or you might have never seen some of the objects! Some of the items might not be that old to you, but most of them cannot be found in stores now with the constant updates to technology.
The book is divided into five sections: music, cameras, cell phones, entertainment, and computers. A muted colour scheme and drawings are used to give the book a more retro feeling. It is told through a first-person narrative by the technology and my sketches in a minimal style. Each item is also accompanied by a song lyric, speech, or thought bubble, giving the technology more life, character, and fun for the reader.
Bookbinding: the signatures were sewn together with the cover attached to the endpapers instead of the spine to provide more flexibility (otabind binding).
