Creating a reusable and multi-functional package design for pencil crayons.

In a saturated market that is filled with brands competing against each other, the most appealing products or packaging usually wins. Pencil crayon packaging often comes in boxes that are usually used once to hold the products in stores. The pencil crayons would be hard to see and take out if they were kept in the box, which means the box is usually thrown away, contributing to the problem of packaging waste.

Chroma was created to introduce children to pencil crayons and reusable packaging. To decrease the waste and to make it fun for children, an elephant shaped, multi-functional package was developed.

The trunk of the elephant can function as an easel and the package itself can be reused as an organizer to store other materials. There are dividers inside that can be taken out or adjusted horizontally and vertically to suit the child’s needs. A pocket sketchbook and animal themed colouring book are included to let children start colouring and drawing right away.
